My Learning strategies 

First, I read the paper from group 1 while listening some music in my ears, because it helps me a lot to feel more relax and ready to studying. Then, I stop to read when if I find a word that I don’t understand. After I know the meaning of it, I continue my read until finish.

In their paper of group 1 “A matter of facts: The News Values and Elements”, states that Journalists are always on the look-out for strong stories that are in the public interest. Their knowledge of news values will enable them to select stories that can boost their circulation or media ratings. Those responsible for deciding the news agenda are sometimes called “gatekeepers”. Gatekeeping takes place at many levels – the newspaper or broadcast station’s owner, its editor and senior journalists. Lower down the hierarchy, reporters will also exercise similar judgements when they choose who to interview and what parts of their reply should be included in their report.

Interpretation

For me, thing that I don’t know before was the fact that to become a Journalist we need to always keeping up with what happen really quick. That make me realize that I can’t just be sitting here not pay attention with what is going on. Before, I’m typical human that really enjoy my bed and just be lazy all the time. Now I realize I need to be more excited and aware of what is happening around me. Especially now I’m on semester 6, I can’t be lazy anymore.
